PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: 27 July 2026
Pitch Simple ("we", "us", or "our"), operating out of the State of Victoria, Australia, respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, process, secure, and retain data for our global user base in strict compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for European users, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for US users.
1. Data Collected Across User Profiles
To safely run our structural connection marketplace, we collect specific categories of data depending on your registration profile:
- Writer Profile Data: Full name, contact details, email address, billing information, profile biography, profile photo, and uploaded creative materials (PDF scripts, loglines, treatments, pitch decks).
- Industry Executive / Investor Profile Data: Full name, corporate email, professional credentials, company affiliation, verification documentation, and real-time interaction logs.
- Technical and System Data: IP addresses, browser types, unique device identifiers, geolocation data, cookie data, and time-stamped platform interaction logs.
2. Lawful Grounds and Purposes for Processing Data
We collect and process your personal data for the following essential operational reasons:
- Identity Verification: To vet and confirm the credentials of Industry Executives and Investors, creating a secure environment before granting database access.
- Service Delivery: To manage your tiered subscription plan, securely process recurring payments, host your creative slate, and generate automated internal Registration Certificates.
- Chain-of-Title Protection: To monitor, log, and display metadata whenever an industry executive interacts with a script. The system automatically records executive download activity, timestamps, and IP addresses to provide writers with concrete evidence of access.
- Competition Management: To administer skill-based platform events, verify participant eligibility, and securely distribute prize allocations, such as the Alternative Endings Competition.
3. Data Retention, Account Closure, and Script Deletion
- Active and Lapsed Storage: We store your uploaded creative works for as long as your membership remains active or in a lapsed/hidden state so you can reactivate your visibility instantly.
- Permanent Deletion Protocol: You may choose to close your account permanently at any time. Upon formal request, all of your uploaded PDF scripts, pitch decks, loglines, and bio data will be permanently wiped from our live production databases within thirty (30) days.
- Archive Ledger Exception: System log data confirming that a unique Registration Certificate ID was generated for a specific script title on a specific date will be held permanently in an unindexed, offline archive ledger. This ledger cannot be searched by the public or industry users. It is maintained solely to protect historic chain-of-title verifications and prevent future intellectual property disputes.
4. Cross-Border Data Transfers and Security Architecture
- Global Marketplace Acknowledgment: Pitch Simple is hosted on secure cloud servers located within Australia and secure international data delivery networks. Because our platform links writers with global investors, you explicitly acknowledge and consent to the international transfer and display of your profile data and creative concepts to verified members worldwide.
- Security Controls: We utilize industry-standard cryptographic protocols to secure your data in transit and at rest. Script downloads are tightly locked behind credential walls and protected by a mandatory interstitial warning screen.
5. Your Global Privacy Rights
No matter where you reside, Pitch Simple grants you extensive control over your data. You may exercise any of the following rights through your user settings or by contacting our support portal:
- Right of Access & Portability: You can request a complete digital copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You have the power to update, correct, or amend inaccurate or outdated profile or billing information instantly.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can demand the permanent deletion of your data and creative assets from our active servers.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You may opt out of specific automated tracking metrics or processing pathways where applicable by law.
